美國總統歐巴馬26日把朝野日前協商的預算協議簽署為法律，限制未來兩年的支出上限，降低聯邦政府明年1月15日關門的威脅；屆時民主黨和共和黨國會議員將根據新的支出上限，擬定一系列支出法案。

歐巴馬也簽署大規模國防措施為法律，確保國防支出為5,521億美元，以及海外緊急行動、也就是阿富汗戰爭的支出為807億美元，並允許加速關閉關達那摩監獄（Guantanamo）。新法仍禁止把關達那摩監獄的囚犯移送回美國本土。
