英格蘭墓地短缺　20年後恐無處可葬

【綜合報導】英國廣播公司（BBC）日前向699個英格蘭地區的地方政府調查墓地現況，並獲其中358個地方政府回覆。BBC發現，44%稱墓葬用地在20年內就會用完，20年後往生的英國民眾恐「無處可去」。

BBC稱，英國2012年有高達74%的往生者選擇火化，但英國民眾仍有傳統土葬與安葬骨灰的需求，將近90個地方政府甚至表示，10年內墓地就將「客滿」。倫敦地區2007時曾通過「雙層墓穴」法規，公墓可針對下葬75年的墓穴「再利用」，將棺木挖出後加深墓穴，「騰出」一個棺木的「新空間」。但該作法目前僅限於倫敦地區。

BBC稱，英格蘭有些地方將停車場或步行通道改成墓地。一些公墓高度短缺的地方，人們被迫去外地為親人尋找葬身之地。約克大學認為，公墓短缺問題已嚴重到政府必須插手干預。
