【姚瑞宸／綜合報導】海盜隊在辛辛那堤客場的關鍵戰役，單場擊出6發全壘打，以8比3輕取紅人隊，坐穩國聯外卡排行第1寶座，並保有外卡驟死戰的主場優勢。
海盜隊二壘手沃克(Neil Walker)在第3局率先擊出全壘打，攻下海盜隊第1分，第5局再度開轟，打破2隊3比3平手僵局。這也是他生涯第1次單場雙響砲。
 除了沃克，海盜中心打者麥考勤(Andrew McCutchen)第3局也揮出陽春砲，艾瓦瑞茲(Pedro Alvarez)4局揮出個人本季第36號全壘打，攻上國聯全壘打王寶座，柏德(Marlon Byrd)
5局轟出2分全壘打，讓紅人先發老投手阿洛尤只投4.2局就被轟出5發全壘打，被KO退場。
海盜隊藍波(Andrew Lambo)在第6局上場代打，揮出個人本季首轟。
