澳洲央行半年一度的統計指出，澳洲外匯市場4月以美元計價的日成交金額為1,817億美元，較去年10月少2%，不過比去年同期高3%。

據國際清算銀行（BIS）統計，澳幣是全球交易熱絡排名第五的貨幣，今年表現不佳。澳洲倚賴豐富資源的經濟成長減緩，投資人隨之減碼澳幣資產。澳幣兌美元29日早盤報0.9273美元，7月初逼近三年來最低價位。

蘇格蘭皇家銀行（RBS）貨幣策略師吉伯斯（Greg Gibbs）表示，澳幣到4月為止的半年間在狹幅區間波動，也可能因此成交量較小。不過，他說，澳幣兌美元今年貶破平價之下大都在4月之後，所以後來的外匯成交量預料會增加。
