日本經濟財政大臣甘利明今天舉行緊急記者會，他說入院身體檢查結果是「初期的舌癌」，七日到十二日在新加坡召開的跨太平洋經濟協議（ＴＰＰ）會議，由副大臣代理。

負責TＰＰ談判的甘利明，於美國副總統拜登訪日前夕突然住院，有人認為這是日本向美國「施壓」的手段之一，不過事實證明他確實生病。

甘利明表示，上月底他曾向首向安倍晉三請辭被慰留，他也決心專心養病，住院兩周；出院後在家休養一到兩周，便能回到公務。
