加拿大醫生協會警告　「勿再做處女驗證」

【於慶中／綜合外電報導】加拿大魁北克醫生協會日前正式要求當地醫生停止進行「處女驗證檢查」，直斥這種做法違反醫生道德守則。

在過去一年半中，魁北克有5個家庭要求醫生替家人進行「處女驗證」，當地的醫護人員進而要求蒙特利爾大學的專家，就這個現象進行研究，魁北克醫生協會特別針對研究作出回應。該會主席伯納德(Charles Bernard)強調，處女驗證違反醫生多項道德守則，包括侵犯病人的隱私，痛斥處女驗證「離譜」、「令人反感」，及不能接受。

目前在法國及西班牙等國，已限制醫生進行處女驗證，部分醫生承認，曾在沒有檢查下，提供虛假的處女證明，以保全受檢女子的聲譽，世界衞生組織(WHO)也將處女驗證當做是對女性的一種性暴力。
