紐約時報報導，英國衛報8日說，該報網站在中國大陸遭到封鎖，但原因不明。大陸曾封鎖一些國際新聞媒體的海外網站，包括紐約時報及彭博新聞，但都是在這些機構披露大陸領導人的財富之後才行動。

衛報網站被封的時機，正值大陸對待外國新聞機構的議題日益引發關切之際，大陸官員近日延遲核發部分外國新聞記者的簽證。
