宏達電點名中華電帶頭拼5G

【劉煥彥／台北報導】宏達電（2498）執行長周永明點名中華電信（2412），要挺身出來當國內電信與手機業的龍頭，帶領台灣產業界進軍5G，不僅參與國際5G標準制定，也要動員台灣所有相關產業力量，使台灣在全球5G產業佔有一席之地。
 
周永明下午在中國電機工程學會主辦的「台灣4G產業與服務發展高峰論壇」中表示，當年全球從2G進入3G時代，是歐洲國家主導技術，沒想到從3G進入4G，變成美國廠商在主導，歐洲人感嘆連諾基亞（NOKIA）都賣了。
 
周永明說：「這就跟國家策略有關係，我們就是不夠aggressive，台灣其實太保守了。我真的覺得，中華電應該要帶頭，你們就是龍頭。我們一起去跟行政院說，台灣產業要ㄧ起做。」
 
他認為，連面積狹小的香港都在研究先進電信技術，台灣擁有完整電信產業鏈，終端、軟體與網路齊備，沒有理由不參與全球5G標準制定。
