菲律賓風災，外交部捐廿萬美元

菲律賓中部8日遭受超級颱風「海燕」侵襲，災情慘重。外交部今天表示，我駐菲國代表處已於第一時間代表中華民國政府和人民，向菲律賓政府表達慰問與關懷之意。基於「人飢己飢、人溺己溺」的人道關懷精神，中華民國政府將捐贈20萬美元協助菲國賑災。

外交部指出，截至目前為止，並無我國僑胞、台商或在菲旅遊國人受災的消息傳出。駐菲律賓代表處將繼續關注菲國相關災情，也請菲國政府提供更具體資訊，以利我方評估提供進一步協助。

依據菲律賓官方公布的統計數據，至10日上午6時止，總計受災人口達98萬餘戶約446萬人，罹難者人數達151人；隨救難人員挺進災區，預料傷亡人數將持續增加。菲律賓紅十字會估計，「海燕」導致菲國罹難者人數超過1200人。
