繼去年的「連希會」後，今年我方ＡＰＥＣ領袖代表蕭萬長今天下午在印尼峇里島與美方領袖代表、美國國務卿柯瑞會面，就增進雙方實質關係深入交換意見。晚間美國在台協會（ＡＩＴ）與我外交部同時發布新聞稿，公布會面過程與雙邊洽商內容。

外交部表示，蕭萬長希望雙方積極推動「臺美貿易暨投資架構協定」（ＴＩＦＡ）下的相關協商，並優先推動洽簽「雙邊投資協定」（ＢＩＡ），逐步以堆積木方式，朝台美洽簽「自由貿易協定」（ＦＴＡ）邁進。蕭萬長也說明我方希望盡速參與「跨太平洋夥伴協定」（ＴＰＰ）的意願。
